As part of the Festhalle Bern’s renovation, we were responsible for the entire building automation in the HVAC sector. Planning and executing the project in just over a year was a real challenge — one we’re proud to say we handled successfully.

Together with 116 other companies, we helped create a modern, versatile cultural venue for the city of Bern. The new Festhalle offers space for people of all generations to come together — from concerts to expos to popcorn-filled movie nights. We’re proud to have contributed our expertise to this major project.

On-Site Work
A large part of the system was installed on the roof surface, including all the associated panels. Commissioning took place in January and February — right in the middle of winter. For our commissioning technicians, this project posed a special challenge — they’re usually working indoors, after all. The tight schedule left almost no wiggle room for delays caused by shifts in the weather. But thanks to creative solutions — like quickly setting up tents — we were able to protect the electrical components from rain and snow and complete the commissioning work on time.

A big shout-out goes to our dedicated team, who braved the elements and played a major role in making this project a success.

One of the highlights was working in the multifunctional hall, where the lighting rig was suspended up to 18 meters above the ground. That kind of work requires more than just the right equipment — it takes a steady hand, precision, and a good head for heights. Despite the tough conditions, our experienced specialists handled every task with top-level precision and professionalism.

Commissioning – Reaching the Goal Together
The final commissioning phase was intense and critical: Within just a few weeks, all the companies involved worked under high pressure to meet the Festhalle’s completion deadline on time. Smooth coordination and flexible collaboration were key here. Thanks to outstanding teamwork across the board, the project was completed on schedule and successfully handed over.
